Scenes from a Train Station

The past couple of days marked a return to the Train Station of times past for the Madigan kidlets. Ah, good times. Especially the last shot.

Staff Development Day = Park Time for Kidlets!

Both Ciara and Áine had the day off from school, so we headed to the local park this morning thinking we'd beat the heat. We didn't. Our stay was brief and Áine's beloved swings were under construction, but the girls had a great time none the less. Ciara was a wonderful "spotter" as Áine made her way through the playground equipment.

Happy Anniversary, Áine Clare!

Seven years ago today Áine had a left hemispherectomy that forever changed her world and ours. This most awesome chickie continues to thrive and has just started 3rd grade.

She attends various therapies/services -- speech, OT/PT, augmentative speech, swimming, Ability First Saturday program -- on a more limited basis as she has increased her hours at school.

Áine remains a funny, squirrely, clever, increasingly independent girl who brightens the paths of everyone she meets.

This should be an interesting year as it will be her last at this particular -- most awesome -- school. New principal, new teacher, new no-show aide. I will look to Áine's positive attitude for inspiration!
